: In 5000 words or more, please explain why the eagles never show up until the last minute when, if they had been more team players, and if anyone had thought of it, the whole "get the Ring to Mount Doom and throw it in to the fire" thing could have been accomplished in a day or two, with much better odds and with much less fuss.
